With a Master’s degree in real estate and more than a decade of experience in the property management industry, Rochelle Murray is an expert in her field. Find out more about Rochelle, her career, and her role at the Park.
What do you do?
In a nutshell, I look after commercial real estate assets with a focus on the financial side.
What does a typical day look like for you?
I know everyone says this, but there is no typical day at the Park or a typical day for me! I could be organising lease renewals, undertaking a property inspection, budgeting with utility consultants, or working with solicitors - I have a really wide remit across multiple areas of the Park and I thrive on the variety.
What skills do you need to do your job?
Communications skills are key alongside being able to work in collaboration with others across various industries, sectors, and varying levels of seniority. Multi-tasking and flexibility - with a lot of grit and determination - are pretty essential too!
What do you like about working at the Park?
It’s a really nice environment to work in. I’m in a small office with a positive team atmosphere with great neighbours in beautiful surroundings!
How did you come to be a Property Management Surveyor at Chesterford Research Park?
I began my career as a PA to a property surveyor after studying for a degree in history. I found my passion in the property industry which inspired me to complete my MSc in Real Estate while working full time. I became a surveyor, then senior surveyor, and am now an associate surveyor.
In your opinion, why do the Chesterford Research Park occupiers choose to base themselves here?
Chesterford is so much more than high-quality office and bespoke lab spaces. While the buildings are the primary reason for occupiers to base themselves here, it’s the amazing facilities, supportive Park team, and 250-acres of green space and lakes that really appeal and make people want to stay.
What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
I really love to travel. I have family in New Zealand so I visit them regularly, including a trip earlier this year. I’m lucky to have also visited Greece and Bucharest in 2024 – I like having the next travel plan in place as soon as I’m back! Live music has always been a passion of mine from my first gig seeing Blur to my most recent gig watching The Killers. My, lazy but somehow naughty, dog Ted the beagle also takes up a lot of my spare time!
