A day in the life of Brianna Lewis, Events Executive

Brianna Lewis is Chesterford Research Park’s Events Executive and is responsible for delivering exceptional conferences, meetings and events for occupiers and guests.

What do you do?
My role is to arrange and manage events here at the Park. I work with clients and occupiers to plan their meetings, conferences, seminars and many other types of event. I then work alongside my fantastic team to ensure the smooth running of these events.

What does a typical day look like for you?
I always check-in with any clients that are on-site and holding an event that day to ensure they’re happy. I then respond to any new enquiries that come in and continue to plan for any upcoming events, finalising any details. I’m currently putting together a calendar of occupier events planned for the year.

What do you enjoy most about your role?
When we receive great feedback. Whether that’s about our hardworking team, the location of the Park, the food provided by BM Caterers – it all makes me really proud of what I do, knowing that I was a part of pulling it all together.

What do you like about working at the Park?
The location. It doesn’t feel like driving into work in the morning; I feel I’m entering a National Park! I’m looking forward to seeing how it changes with the seasons.

How did you come to be an Events Executive at Chesterford Research Park?
I’ve always worked in hospitality; from my early part-time jobs in catering and bar work, to my first role as Meetings and Events Organiser at Radisson Blu, Stansted. I took a short break from hospitality to work in sales for an organic food company but I missed it too much. Hospitality will always hold a place in my heart – it’s never a dull day.

In your opinion, why do the Chesterford Research Park occupiers choose to base themselves here?
I think the picturesque countryside location alone is a selling point – not everyone likes the hustle and bustle of a city. Aside from the location, we have our wonderful Park team that go above and beyond to ensure our occupiers are happy and their needs are met.

What developments and events are you planning this year to enhance life at the Park for occupiers and visitors?
We have some exciting plans in the pipeline including an occupier summer BBQ, an autumn event and our much-loved Christmas Market. I’m looking forward to bringing some new ideas to the table and bringing these to life. If any of our occupiers have suggestions and requests about what events they would like at the Park, they can call or email me.

What do you enjoy doing outside of work?
Baking and crocheting are my favourite things to do. I’m also very active and I love hiking. I’ve completed two Mighty Hikes so far and I intend to complete all 16 over the next few years.

Quick fire round

  • Perfect dinner guests: Gordon Ramsay, Gino D'Acampo and Fred Sirieix. I can recommend their Road Trip series, it’s hilarious. Plus, they could cook for me!
  • Favourite part of the Park: The walks through the woodland where you see the occasional deer.
  • Who or what inspires you: My partner, Brett, he’s my number one fan and is always there for me.
  • If you weren’t doing this job, you’d be working as: I’d run my own crochet business and attend small markets and events.
  • Best piece advice you've received: Be present.
