Combining
both the latest technology and a visible guard presence our aim
is to make Chesterford Research Park a secure environment in
which to work.
Security
at Chesterford Research Park is provided 24 hours a day,
7 days a week by a specialist security manned guarding
company. The Park road network, occupied buildings and
landscaped common areas are covered by regular vehicle
and foot patrols.
To
augment this continuous presence a comprehensive CCTV
system and perimeter intruder detection system has been
installed to monitor and record events on the park.
As part of the improvement works
to the entrance to the Park a sophisticated vehicle
recognition system has been installed. This allows
for quick and easy access and egress of registered
vehicles to the park.
Fast track procedures for pre-registered
Visitors and Deliveries to the Park are currently in
place. However, in order to maintain a high level of
Security, any non-registered arrivals on site will be
subject to a validity check.
Karl
Smith SECURITY & PARK
SERVICES MANAGER
Originally from Leeds, but
now based in Cambridgeshire with his wife and
two young children, Karl is the Security and
Park Services Manager.
More than amply qualified for the role, Karl has
spent his whole career within the security industry.
After serving with the Royal
Artillery for nine years, where he worked in the
Close Protection Unit as a personal bodyguard for
the Regimental Sergeant Major, he worked at a managerial
level in the detention services sector before this
move, into corporate security.
