‘There’s no place like home’ for
Chesterford’s carnival goers
Members of the Estates Team from Chesterford
Research Park were among the 50 floats that took part in
Saffron Walden’s Hollywood themed Carnival procession on
Saturday, which saw off the rain to become a huge success.
Celebrating the movies and all things America,
witches, scarecrows and munchkins joined together in harmony
as they followed their very own ‘yellow brick road’ on Chesterford
Research Park’s colourful float, themed around the Wizard
of Oz.
Commenting on the Carnival’s success, park
manager, Katherine Maguire, said: “The Saffron Walden Carnival
is always such a huge success, thanks to the huge efforts
of the Round Table and local community. As one of the largest
employers in the area with a community spirited philosophy
we wanted to get involved and show our support for an event,
which really showcases the town, promoting it across the
East Anglia region and beyond.
She adds: "The carnival was a real
spectacle, bolstered by the sun shining and a great atmosphere.
We’re already planning a float at the next one."
