Peter Ringrose joins Biotica Board.
Chesterford, U.K. 5 September, 2007 – Biotica Technology
Ltd, a privately held biotechnology company, today announced
the appointment of Dr Peter Ringrose as Non-Executive Director
with imme diate effect. Dr. Ringrose, a highly regarded
pharmaceutical industry veteran, will strengthen Biotica’s
board as the company continues to exploit its polyketide
drug discovery platform.
Dr Peter Ringrose most recently served as Chief Scientific
Officer of Bristol-Myers Squibb Company and President of
the Pharmaceutical Research Institute, where he was responsible
for the discovery, preclinical and clinical development of
pharmaceutical products worldwide. Previously, he was Senior
Vice President and Head of Pfizer Central Research Europe.
At Pfizer, Dr. Ringrose was responsible for teams involved
in the discovery and development of many significant new
medicines including Viagra. Prior to this he held senior
positions at Sandoz Research Institute and Roche.
Dr. Ringrose currently serves as Chairman of the Biotechnology
and Biological Sciences Research Council (BBSRC). He was
a Non-Executive Director of Cambridge Antibody Technology
and is currently a non-executive director of Astex Therapeutics
Ltd and Rigel Pharmaceuticals Inc. He is a lifetime Honorary
Pitt Fellow of Pembroke College Cambridge, a Council Member
of the Foundation for Science and Technology UK and a Member
of the New York Academy of Sciences President’s Council.
