Gala Dinner with Anton Edelmann produces mouth-watering results for guests at Chesterford Research Park

Commercial agents, Park tenants and guests enjoy a gourmet evening at The Nucleus, Chesterford Research Park

Over 80 commercial agents, Park tenants and guests of the joint developers of the Park, The Churchmanor Estates Company Plc and Aviva Investors, as well as special guests from Elior, the Park’s contract caterers, gathered at The Nucleus on Thursday 29th September for an evening of gourmet food and fine wine.

The occasion - an excellent opportunity to showcase the Park’s contemporary central facilities complex The Nucleus - also marked the first official view of the new Science Village Development for the London, regional and local commercial agents.  Agents enjoyed a tour of the Science Village site before re-joining other guests on the Nucleus terrace for a champagne reception before dinner.

The menu for the evening which consisted of an exquisite selection of courses, including courgette flower filled with fish mousseline with a saffron reduction and local venison from Radwinter, near Saffron Walden with parsnip puree was devised by celebrity chef Anton Edelmann.  Renowned for having been the Savoy hotel's maître chef des cuisines for 21 years, Anton created the unique menu specifically to showcase some of the regions finest local produce.  Working with and guiding the Nucleus chefs and visiting Chefs from Elior, Anton’s vast experience was plain to see as plate after plate of not only delicious, but also expertly presented food made it’s way to guests’ tables.

Having provided an excellent dinner, Anton then gave a most amusing insight into the life of a celebrity chef, recounting stories from his time at the Savoy Hotel where it became apparent that managing a brigade of 80 chefs producing 2,000 covers a night for people such as The Queen, President Clinton and a variety of Britain’s most famous politicians was not always as easy as he made it look!

Martin Sylvester, Director The Churchmanor Estates Company Plc, commented of the evening: “The announcement of the construction of Science Village generated a great deal of interest and excitement and this evening gave our guests the opportunity to view the development at the now half way stage of progress as well as the wider Park environment.  Having the right combination of flexible R&D spaces on a Park such as ours is of utmost importance but it is this combined with the wider community facilities on offer that truly makes Chesterford stand out.  The Nucleus team consistently deliver exceptional, personable service on a daily basis to both our tenants and Park visitors and their dedication to excellence shines through on an evening such as this.”

Chesterford Research Park provides a unique range of facilities and an excellent working environment for some of the more established pioneers in R&D such as Illumina and Biofocus, as well as the innovative newer breed of biotechnology companies such as Cellzome, Biotica and Isogenica.  Construction of the Science Village development will add to the already impressive Park facilities and provide more opportunities for exciting scientific discoveries to take place within the South Cambridge biotech cluster.  Ideally situated within easy reach of the City of Cambridge, Stansted airport and the M11, Chesterford Research Park is perfectly positioned to offer companies of all sizes attractively located, state-of-the-art facilities.
