SOSEI R&D TAKES POSSESSION OF NEW HQ BUILDING AT CHESTERFORD RESEARCH PARK

Sosei R&D Ltd, the UK subsidiary of Sosei Group Corporation, a global Japanese biopharmaceutical company, has taken possession of its new headquarters building at Chesterford Research Park.  The company has taken a new 15-year lease on Building 400 – a 15,000 sq ft purpose-built R&D office building.  Building 400, which is located opposite the Park’s central facility, known as The Nucleus, provides two floors of offices, together with plant and external stores, plus parking for 42 cars.

The move by Sosei to more than double the space it occupies at Chesterford Research Park follows it’s acquisition some 18 months ago of Arakis.  Arakis had been tenants of the Park since 2001.

Speaking about the move to Building 400, Stuart Gibson, Group Finance Director of Sosei Group said, “We are delighted with our new, bespoke building at Chesterford Research Park, and extremely happy that the growth of Sosei’s business could be accommodated so effectively at the Park. Our new offices will be the base for the Group’s operations in Europe, providing an excellent environment for research, development and commercial activities, and assisting Sosei in its vision of becoming a major global biopharmaceutical company.”

Martin Sylvester, Director of Churchmanor Estates Plc, joint owners of Chesterford Research Park with Morley Fund Management said, “Of course, we are very pleased to have been able to have met Sosei’s growing, changing needs within the Park, and to demonstrate our commitment to our occupiers’ property requirements.  Sosei is a world-class player in its sector, and a company that we are proud to have at Chesterford Research Park.”

Morley Fund Management and Churchmanor Estates Plc were advised in the transaction by Carter Jonas and CB Richard Ellis, while Sosei was advised by Robert Alston.
