The Park does Comic Relief
It did not take much to persuade Park Manager, Katherine Maguire, to dress up for Comic Relief ! Katherine dug out her pink pyjamas, fluffy dressing gown, slippers and a red curly wig all in aid of Comic Relief. Ably assisted by Sylvia Scoffield, Security Shift Supervisor and Karen Douglas, Cleaning Supervisor, both dressed in borrowed pyjamas they greeted Park Staff and Visitors as they arrived at the Park. Katherine, was relieved to learn later that not many people had recognised her !!
Meanwhile in the gym an exercise class was underway and all who attended were also in their pyjamas. The Catering Team, dressed in red, hosted a selection of fund raising events including the sale of Comic Relief cakes. At Noon a big walk, involving 20 people inside a rope, took to the Park ring road - no records were broken but they raised some smiles and a few more pounds.
The days activities raised a total of £470.35 for Comic Relief. |
