Park News23 March 2006 Science week treats for after-school club
Children at an after-school club got to grips with everything from slime and soundwaves to endangered species. The youngsters in Great Chesterford were taking part in Science Week at the village community centre. A range of science presentations and workshops organised by the Chesterfun club were supported by Chesterford Developers, the Royal Society of Chemistry, TWI and Syngenta. The children discovered the science of making music, the hidden world of the microscope, met endangered species from Linton Zoo and found out all there is to know about polymer science, better known as slime. Sue Johnson, Chesterfun team leader, said: "We are very grateful to our sponsors. As a non-profit- making club we could not have held this fabulous week of activities without their generous support."
