Rounders Tournament
This year's Rounders Tournament took place on 20th July on a hot and sunny evening! The BBQ was cooking and people were relaxing in the sun.
4 teams took part from Biofocus, Solexa, Sosei and The Nucleus. All teams played well with just a hint of competitiveness and despite the very warm weather all put in maximum effort, playing to win !
There was lots of rounders being scored, with each team having some big hitters, testing the throwing arms of all the fielders! Some superb fielding and excellent catches in the field were made by all the teams, especially by Will from Solexa who was out in the deep field!! There were also some great drops by various players!! They know who they are
The Playoff for 1st and 2nd position was between Solexa and Biofocus! Some big hits were made and some great running too, to score 15.5 rounders each! Biofocus had the last minute to score that vital rounder but just ran out of time. We then added up their other scores and it became a draw overall!!
For 3rd and 4th play off it was between Sosei and The Nucleus!! It became a great family occasion with some of Nicky's children joining in and scoring a great rounder!! Cameron did some great sliding around the posts to score a vital rounder! In the end Sosei come out on top with the winning runs!
Well done to all the teams that took part, the evening was great fun and hopefully everybody had fun taking part and getting involved!
